Portemanteau

Le jeudi 27 juillet j'ai fait un sujet sur une broderie terminée "Coeur Fleurs et Rayures".

Hier soir j'en ai fait un portemanteau.

Thursday july 27th I wrote a note on a project I had finished stitching "Coeur Fleur et Rayures", last night I made a coat rack.

L'ouvrage terminé, il faut bien le repasser.
Chez Leroy Merlin j'ai fait découper une planche de 1 cm d'épaisseur aux dimensions de 40 cm sur 40 cm.

Once the stitching finished, iron it well.
In a local shop I got a piece of ply wood cut for me (40 cm by 40 cm and 1 cm thick).

Sur cette planche mettre du double face sur les bords.

On this piece of ply wood apply on all sides a double sided scotch.

Recouvrir la planche de ouate (pour les patchwork, c'est vendu au metre dans les magasins de tissus).

Poser le lin brodé sur la planche et agrafer au dos en tendant bien l'ouvrage.

Cover the ply wood with cotton (used for the padding of the quilts). Apply the cross stitch on top and staple the linen on the back.

Du ruban pour la finition sur les bords de la planche. J'en ai 1 m 70.

Ribbon for the sides, I bought 1 m 70.

Des clous de tapissier pour tenir le ruban en place.

Tapistery nails to hold the ribbon.

J'ai espacé les clous pour en mettre que 4 par côté.

I have applied 4 nails on each side.

Deux portemanteaux que j'ai acheté dans un magasin de décoration à Guérande.

Two coat hangers that I bought in a local home decoration store.

Visser les acroches délicatement pour ne pas abimer le lin.

Screw the coat hangers in place being carefull with the linen.

Au dos de la planche, recouvrir le lin avec du papier craft et visser une fixation.

On the back, cover the linen with craft paper and put a system to hook it on your wall.
