My home made book on little squares is well on its way, I have even stitch the title "Petits Carrés", started the work on the computer and still have a few squares to stitch but since I changed some of the grids on the way it is taking a little bit longer than expected!

Ce qu'elle fait est très délicat car elle brode en 1 fil et je souhaite la remercier de m'avoir brodé ces deux ouvrages: "Coeur Flocon I" et "Marquoir I".

Rose is the name of a lady that does cross stitch and she offered to stitch some designs for Alice and Co and these are the two she made: "Coeurs Flocon I" and "Marquoir I". The pictures aren't great because my livingroom is pretty dark as the weather has not been very sunny.
PS: j'ai du mal a faire de belles photos car la météo n'est pas favorable et mon salon est donc assez sombre!!

J'ai 4 cadres et je souhaite n'en faire qu'un seul pour exposer sur mon stand.
I have 4 frames but wish to make only one to hang on my booth.
J'ai posé un papier craft colant à l'intersection des cadres pour les tenir ensemble puis j'ai découpé des morceaux de carton que j'ai agrafé pour le bon maintient des cadres.
I pasted kraft paper along the edge and cut some hard paper and stapled it in the proper places for the four frames to hold together.
Voilà comment faire un seul tableau à partir de 4 cadres.

Découper un carton fin en carré (18.5 cm x 18 cm) et mettre du double face sur les bords.
Cut a square out in a thin cardboard (18.5 cm x 18 cm) and cover the sides with a double sided tape.
Retirer la protection et retourner le carton sur de la ouate (celle utilisée pour le patchwork) et découper autour.
Take the tape protection off and turn the cardboard over and stick it on a cotton piece (the one used for quilting) and cut around.
J'obtiens donc un carton molletonné. J'en prépare un deuxième.
This way I obtain a quilted cardboard. I make a second.
Sur un rectangle de lin de 44 cm par 19 cm, j'ai brodé un modèle d'Alice and Co ("Coussins dessins celtiques"), j'ai plié le rectangle en deux et j'ai cousu sur deux bords puis retourné l'ouvrage. J'en ai fait un deuxième.
On a 44 cm by 19 cm I have stitched an Alice and Co design, I folded the piece in two, sewed two sides and turned it inside out. I made a second one.
Glisser le carton molletonné à l'intérieur du lin et épingler bien au bord. Passer à la machine à coudre. A faire sur le deuxième morceau.
Slide the cardboard inside the linen and pin it right on the edge. Sew it. Repeat on the second piece.
Rentrer les bords et coudre. Sur cette bande de lin qui dépasse placer quatre oeillets.
Sew in the edges and on this piece of linen place 4 metalic circles (don't know what they are called!).
J'ai acheté des fiches bristol blanches et j'ai fait les perforations.
I bought some white hard paper and made the holes myself.
Glisser les fiches bristol entre les deux couvertures.
Slide the white paper between the two covers.

Thursday july 27th I wrote a note on a project I had finished stitching "Coeur Fleur et Rayures", last night I made a coat rack.
L'ouvrage terminé, il faut bien le repasser.
Chez Leroy Merlin j'ai fait découper une planche de 1 cm d'épaisseur aux dimensions de 40 cm sur 40 cm.
Once the stitching finished, iron it well.
In a local shop I got a piece of ply wood cut for me (40 cm by 40 cm and 1 cm thick).
Sur cette planche mettre du double face sur les bords.
On this piece of ply wood apply on all sides a double sided scotch.
Recouvrir la planche de ouate (pour les patchwork, c'est vendu au metre dans les magasins de tissus).
Poser le lin brodé sur la planche et agrafer au dos en tendant bien l'ouvrage.
Cover the ply wood with cotton (used for the padding of the quilts). Apply the cross stitch on top and staple the linen on the back.
Du ruban pour la finition sur les bords de la planche. J'en ai 1 m 70.
Ribbon for the sides, I bought 1 m 70.

Au dos de la planche, recouvrir le lin avec du papier craft et visser une fixation.

On the back, cover the linen with craft paper and put a system to hook it on your wall.
Sur une bande de lin, coudre aux quatre coins des cordes de lin, broder au centre une petite tortue, puis poser cette bande sur un coussin et nouer au dos. Voici un ouvrage qui peut s'adapter sur des coussins de couleur différente suivant votre humeur!

On a strip of linen sew at each end a piece of linen string, stitch in the middle a turtle, then put this strip on a pillow and make a knot in the back. This way you can swap the color of your pillows underneath the turtle! "Tortue" an Alice and Co grid.
Voici un projet dont je n'étais pas certaine du résultat. J'ai terminé de broder mon "Alphabet romain", une grille de 250 points sur 250 sur du lin 12 fils soit un résultat de 42 cm sur 43 cm.
J'ai fait découper une planche de 52 cm sur 52 chez Leroy Merlin avec une épaisseur de 1 cm.
Suite aux émissions de France 5 "Question maison", j'avais remarqué la peinture magnétique pour les chambres d'enfant, et trouvait l'idée sympa.
Here is a project for which I wasn't sure of the result. I finished stitching my "Alphabet romain", it is a grid of 250 points by 250 on a 12 thread linen, the size is 42 cm by 43 cm.
I had a wood board of 52 cm by 52 cut in a local store, thickness of 1 cm.
On a french show I saw some magnetic paint used for childrens' room and found that nice.
So this is what I did:

J'ai bien repassé mon ouvrage.
I made sure to iron my work well.
Peindre la planche avec la peinture magnétique.
Paint the board with the magnetic paint.
Après 4 couches de peinture pour s'assurer de la bonne aimantation. Je constate que la planche attire bien mes aimants.
After 4 layers of paint to be sure of the magnetic effect, I notice that my magnets do in fact stay in place.
J'ai ensuite agraphé mon lin sur ma planche, et mis un croquet accroché avec des clous de tapissier.
I then stapled the linen to the board and finalised the work with a ribbon held by tapestry nails.
Mon tableau magnétique terminé.
A noter que le lin posé sur la peinture magnétique atténue son efficacité, il faut donc utiliser des aimants assez larges.
My magnetic board is finished.
Because of the linen over the paint, it is wise to use wide magnets.

Info supplémentaire : Pour la peinture magnétique il faut demander à vos magasins de bricolage, il me semble qu'elle n'existe qu'en une seule couleur puisqu'il est possible de mettre une couche de peinture de son choix par dessus. Dans mon cas je l'ai eu chez Mr Bricolage car Leroy Merlin était en rupture de stock.
C'est terrible d'avoir des en cours, mais comment ne pas en avoir puis que j'ai des idées nouvelles tous les jours et je veux démarrer des ouvrages à chaque instant. Mais là il va falloir que je sois raisonnable et que je les termine impérativement pour les salons de Septembre!

Le kit de base était un pense bête de chez Annick Profitt, mais avec un grand coeur il est devenu un pêle mêle avec la photo de bébé Youna venue nous rendre visite avec sa soeur, sa maman et sa grand-mère la semaine dernière!
En attendant un petit pot de peinture rouge pour les épingles à linge voici le résultat, à moins que je les peigne en gris, à voir.

Un petit clin d'oeil à Sandrine qui a brodé le modèle Trezwel dans le cadre blanc.
Petit week end marin, maman a brodé trois petits poissons pour une bannière, c'est la grille "Patch de poissons" d'Alice and Co, réalisée avec du fil Variations et du fil uni de DMC.
Quant à moi j'ai brodé trois petits carrés pour insérer dans des cadres en forme de poissons. Ce sont trois éléments d'une nouvelle grille en préparation comprenant plusieurs petits motifs marins.

Little sea week end, my mom stitched three little fish from the grid "Patch de poissons" from Alice and Co, made with the new Variations threads and some plain thread from DMC.
As for me I stitched three little squares for some fish shaped frames. These three elements are part of a new grid containing several little elements inspired by the sea.
Voici deux nouveautés: "Glaz-Limestra" qui est un alphabet en forme de coeur et réalisé avec 7 couleurs DMC qui vont du 333 au 3807 et donne un effet très sympa. "Taolenn-Livioù" est une palette de peinture de 9 couleurs DMC.
Here are two new designs: "Glaz-Limestra" which is an alphabet in a heart shape made with 7 colors of DMC from the 333 to the 3807 and has a really nice affect. "Taolenn-Livioù" is a palette of 9 DMC colors.
Ces deux modèles vont faire partie d'un ouvrage "fabrication maison" sur lequel je travaille. J'ai déjà dessiné 10 modèles et réalisés 5, ma mise en page est prête, je m'en suis imprimé un exemplaire (sur photo ci-dessous).
These two designs will be part of a "home made" project which I'm working on. I have made 10 designs and stitched 5 of them, my layout is ready, I have even printed out a copy. (see picture below).

I designed a new alphabet "Vent de la mer" - wind of the ocean - I still have some bags to sew in the C.du.lin Création collection and two of them are kits. Yesterday I stitched the first letters of the alphabet and this morning did some sewing.

Wait a minute, I'm working too! I am making a box, or at least trying to. I have cross stitched a design and sewed it in order to make a cover. Now I just need to figure out how to attach the cover to the box!!

Here is a new collection for Alice and Co, "Je suis ..." (I am ...). My mom is stitching them, she has finished two pillows with "Je suis à la pêche" (I am fishing), and stitching actually stitching "Je suis au jardin" (I am in the garden). Will follow "Je suis à la plage" (I am at the beach) and "Je suis au jardin" (I am in the garden). The grids "Je suis ..." are being created to enter my Britany theme which is a bit "empty" at the moment.
