365 Challenge April 19 to 22

Pour vous expliquer pourquoi il y a 2 modèles sur le 20 avril: tout simplement parce que je n'ai pas bien regardé les explications, j'ai coupé 1 exemplaire de chaque carré au lieu de 2, résultat le montage ne correspondait pas au modèle, mais en plus il ne me restait pas de morceaux pour le 21 avril et le 22 avril comme indiqué sur le pdf. Après avoir refait le modèle, j'avais bien des triangles en plus pour les deux jours suivants!!

Once again, I made a mistake when making the blocks on april 20th, because I cut out only 1 square instead of 2 squares as indicated on the pdf. I therefore made the bloc again as per the instruction and had the triangles for the april 21 and april 22 blocks as it was indicated on the pdf!!

Le 18 avril, j'ai réalisé 2 modèles suite à une erreur d'attention, j'avais coupé les rectangles et les carrés comme indiqué sur le document, mais en pleine conversation, j'ai cousu les carrés du même côté du rectangle, réalisant des vols d'oie, alors qu'il fallait coudre les carrés sur les coins opposés du rectangle. Réalisant mon erreur, j'ai décidé de finir le bloc. J'ai donc refait le bloc du 18 avril et mis les deux blocs sur la photo!!

There are 2 blocks on the picture of April 18th because I was not paying attention to the pdf while I was sewing the pieces together and realised that I had sewn the squares on the same side of the rectangle instead of the opposite sides of the rectangle. So I decided to finish the bloc and made the april 18th bloc again, that is why there are two blocks on the picture!!

Le bloc du 27 mars n'est pas le modèle d'origine, mais le montage étant un peu compliqué, Kathryn Kerr (l'australienne qui organise ce projet) a proposé un autre modèle à la place, et j'ai opté pour la facilité!!

The march 27th bloc isn't the original bloc, that one being a bit complicated to make, Kathryn Kerr (the austalian organising this project) designed another bloc, I decided to go with the easy bloc!!

Un très grand morceau pour les derniers jours de février, puisque jusqu'à présent les blocs mesuraient 3,5 inches (9 cm) et que celui-ci mesure 18,5 inches (47 cm), c'est le modèle du centre du quilt.

A big piece for the last days of february, since all the blocks mesure 3,5 inches and that this one meusres 18,5 inches, it is the central part of the quilt.

Le bloc du 23 février est une catastrophe, car en mauvais élève, je n'ai pas lu les instructions avec d'assembler, résultat les couleurs ne sont pas aux bons endroits, impossible de défaire et de refaire car plaçant les carrés sur les rectangles, j'avais déjà coupé le tissu au dos. oups!!

The 23rd of february block is totally wrong, as a bad student I didn't read the instruction before assembling, the result is that I didn't place the colors in the proper place, and it was impossible to undo and re-do as I had already cut my fabric on the back as it was a square on a corner of rectangle method. oups!!

Tous ces blocs utilisent la même méthode: un rectangle avec des carrés placés face contre face sur les bords, on trace une diagonale et on coud dessus, on coupe le surplus de tissus au dos du morceau.

All these blocks use the same methods: a rectangle with squares placed face to face on the side, trace a diagonal and sew over it, cut the extra fabric on the back side.

Les blocs du 11 février et du 14 février sont compliqués à faire car beaucoup de coutures, avec le bloc du 15 février on débute les vols d'oie.

The blocks of february 11th and 14th are not easy to make because they are very small and have a lot of sewing, with the february 15th block we are starting the flying geese.

365 Challenge February 6 to 10

Utilisation de la technique, carré sur carré, tracer dans la diagonale, couture d'un quart de inch de chaque côté de cette diagonale pour réaliser deux demi-triangles, puis placer ces deux nouveaux carrés l'un sur l'autre refaire la diagonale et les coutures de chaque côté et voilà un carré composé de 4 triangles.

Using the technique of a square on a square, trace a diagonal and stitch a quarter inch on each side of the tracing, you get a new square made of 2 triangles. Place these two new squares face to face, trace once again and sew on each side of that trace, you get a square made up of 4 triangles.

Les trois premier blocs étaient galère à faire car des très petits morceaux, heureusement que les suivants étaient plus faciles à réaliser!!

Ces petits blocs sont encore faciles à réaliser, pour réaliser les bandes dans le modèle du 30 janvier, il faut coudre deux bandes ensemble et ensuite couper les carrés.

This little blocks are still easy to make, to make the stripes on january 30, you sew together two stripes and then you cut the squares.

Pas trop de difficulté pour le montage de ces blocs, ils se réalisent en cousant des carrés face à face, en traçant une diagonale et en cousant de 1/4 de inch de chaque côté de cette diagonale, on obtient ainsi 2 carrés composés de 2 triangles.

These blocks aren't too difficult to make, the two halves triangle squares are made from two squares right sides against each other, draw a diagonal, and sew on each side, cut along the diagonal and that is how you obtaint 2 triangles on a square.

Il y a de très petits morceaux dans ces modèles, mais en utilisant les règles Log Cabin de Marti Michell, ce n'est pas difficile à réaliser. A noter que ces blocs mesurent seulement 3 inch!!

There are small pieces in these blocks, but I've been using the Log Cabin rulers from Marti Michell, especially the 1 inch wide and it is very usefull.

J'utilise les deux règles pour Log Cabin de Marti Michell, les  1 1/4 et 2 inch sur la règle numéro 8037, les 1 et 1 1/2 inch sur la règle numéro 8227.
